In November 2002 an agreement was reached on the Kimberley Process (named after Kimberley, South Africa where the first discussions occurred) imposing extensive requirements on producing and purchasing countries to ensure diamonds that funded conflicts did not enter the legal diamond trade. Since that time, 72 countries have signed on to the Kimberley Process. All companies selling diamonds in the United States are required to certify the diamonds they sell are not conflict diamonds.
All diamonds sold by Steve Rambo Fine Jewelers are certified non-conflict diamonds.
The following link has much more information about conflict diamonds and the Kimberley Process.
